Dr. Yannic McNicoll

In February 2024, the Canada College Health Center was pleased to welcome a new doctor to its team as a consultant. Dr. Yannic McNicoll is a general surgeon passionate about what he does. He particularly appreciates the great diversity inherent in this field. Whether it involves the excision of benign lesions under local anesthesia, resections of colonic tumors, or repairs of abdominal wall hernias, the specialist thrives, both in open surgery and in laparoscopic surgery. According to him, health is the primary condition for happiness, and this is what he works towards for his patients by practicing medicine daily at the CIUSSS of North Montreal Island.

An outdoor enthusiast, trail runner, and mountain biker, he sees in sports and this connection to nature a way to surpass himself and maintain a healthy balance with his professional practice.

Yannic McNicoll completed his medical studies at McGill University in 2008. He then completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Montreal and, concurrently, obtained a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. Holding a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Human Physiology from McGill University, he began his professional practice at Lachine Hospital. In 2023, he completed his training in bariatric surgery and minimally invasive surgery at the University of Ottawa.
